Repurpose Salvaged Building Materials

Fall Externs, Chase, MJ and Olivia took on the challenge of retrofitting the Elderberry Wisdom Farm’s (EWF) greenhouse in preparation for fall seed propagation plans. The greenhouse’s south wall needed a reinforced wall to hold back the gravel from the greenhouse’s outer plexiglass wall.

They seized on an opportunity to repurpose building materials salvaged from a house tear down project located next door to EWF. Metal roofing and 2x4’s were brought on site.

Consulting and design sessions led the externs to building wooden frames covered with the metal roofing which were then installed between the concrete foundation pillars. Once the panels are complete the next project will be the installation of greenhouse benches. Well Done and good teamwork!
