EWF sometimes has opportunities for interns to learn about Organic Farming and Food Sovereignty. Whenever scholarships from the Organic Farmers Association's Organic Career Network are provided, this has helped us provide paid internships. Those interested in learning organic farming practices as an intern on Elderberry Wisdom Farm's team are welcome to inquire.

Classroom education and experiential service learning is scheduled alongside our urban forestry and native plant nursery interns. In addition, interns work to germinate and cultivate traditional first foods at two of EWF’s farms here in the rich soils of Oregon's mid-Willamette Valley where, during the spring, summer and fall, we plant and harvest Three Sisters Gardens and grow other organic vegetables in a dozen raised garden beds.

This training helps to strengthen Interns’ awareness of Traditional Ecological Knowledge and other Indigenous Knowledge Systems. It also provides an opportunity for Native American and Indigenous producers to learn about microenterprise development and how to increase social and economic opportunities. You will also learn more about and be able to support tribal food sovereignty through a combination of technical, cultural, and educational activities in collaboration with multiple partners, including Marion-Polk Food Share and Oregon Tilth.
