Earlier this year, EWF’s team started producing multimedia that is now being broadcast locally on Capitol Community Media (https://www.capitalcommunitymedia.org/) along with radio programming that will soon be broadcast on KMUZ Radio (https://kmuz.org/). Plans are also being made to develop a podcast series using the recordings.

Rose produced community television programs over seven years in the past and recognized its value for expanding community education and outreach. When she asked Joaquin Ocana if he was interested in serving as Program Host for the show, he said “Yes!” We were blessed that David Mora-Flores is on our team and that he was enthusiastic about operating the set of studio cameras at CCM-TV. He had already learned to use Final Cut Pro software making it possible for us to complete the post production editing of the one-hour programs.

Our filmmaker Sam Forencich is also working in the background producing film clips featuring elder wisdom and storytelling that are aired on each program. He’s produced film clips of Johnny Moses and CarlaDean Caldera so far, with other recordings waiting to be discovered in our archives and shared in the coming months.

Funding for this series is from TOPP: Transition to Organic Partnership Program, the network developed by Oregon Tilth that provides mentorship, technical assistance, and community support for farmers moving toward organic certification across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.

They agreed to fund our television production so we could feature organic transition, so we’re funded through September 2026. We’re hoping to continue to volunteer our efforts and keep this program running indefinitely. It’s a great way to share our vision and mission, our project accomplishments and culturally rich stories with our community.
