Elderberry Wisdom Farm is inviting volunteers to help us accomplish some of our work in the Native American Plant Nursery this spring. Many in our community realize that our local ecosystems are facing dramatic shortages of Native seeds and plants needed to restore our ecosystems, and we feel privileged to be included in this kind of restoration work. It also means that we are seeking community volunteers to help.

We are inviting volunteers to join us most Wednesdays this spring and help us pot over 1,000 Native tree and shrubs we are growing to develop our nursery so we can provide native species for our partners. It was announced March 3 that EWF has been honored with support from the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development. Our new Community Green Infrastructure grant will provide us with support and technical assistance for the next 18 months as we develop our Native American Plant Nursery at two work sites in Marion County.  The support from state government agencies plus generous foundations and other partners, including the Marion Soil and Water Conservation District, has strengthened our capacity to complete this commitment.

We appreciate the volunteer assistance from our community and we need help. Each month we will keep everyone informed on our progress by providing updates on our activities in our monthly newsletters and at VolunteerMatch.

We have opened opportunities to work with our Spring 2025 cohort, a group of enthusiastic and hard working Habitat Restoration Interns, and are inviting volunteers to join us most Wednesdays in April and May here at the farm. Email rose@elderberrywisdom.org if you are interested in volunteering.
