Here at Elderberry Wisdom Farm, we are all about blue elderberry and its long summer of gifting its medicinal flowers and berries! The blossoms started to appear in mid-May and continue to expand through the mature bushes in our small elderberry patch. This year, they look healthy with no sign of disease. We look forward to harvesting in another month or two. We will be piloting our organic locally sourced blue elderberry locally at our Salem Farmers Market this fall.

If you’d like to see our patch and the young plants that are starting to grow up the hill to the north, below is filmmaker Sam Forencich’s short film which also helps to promote Oregon Tilth’s TOPP Transitioning to Organic Program. I will also share it at the 19th Annual Elderberry Conference at University of Missouri on June 16.
